2011 YEAR OF THE HARE/RABBIT

Year of the RabbitFebruary 3rd sees a silver Hare or Rabbit hop into our lives.  What a contrast to that challenging and dramatic Tiger who presided over 2010!

Hare and Rabbit will attempt to bring a more tranquil energy.  They will ask for us to be more comfortable within ourselves and not to push things; to be at peace with what we have and who we are; to use our skills and talents in a harmonious, non-confrontational way; to use discretion; to be alert to situations that require our attention, taking action sooner rather than later; to make decisions in tune with our instincts; to be adaptable; to inspire, not demand or bully; to keep circumspect when needed; to allow, even encourage, space for relaxation, healing, reflection  and replenishment.

Because they are so much 'of the moment', Hare and Rabbit are most keen for us to let go of those 'what ifs' and 'if onlys', and to stop feeling sorry for ourselves.  Sacred to the Moon Goddess, they remind us that everything has its natural cycle.  We can rejoice in times of fertility, then be happy to release that particular cycle of creativity as a fresh or different one is dawning.  De-clutter your mind as well as your home!  Discard old ideas/mindsets that you have outgrown.

Friends and community will be important this year.  Activities that bring people together will feature more and more.  Make time for others, to give and share, as well as to receive.  Listen well, hear clearly.  The energy is open-hearted and fun loving.  Discordance will be less tolerated.  Harmony and pleasure are not options, they are essentials.  So too is that we give expression to our own uniqueness elegantly and lovingly.

As a silver hare or rabbit gently hops into your life, may she or he bring you peacefulness and joy, a deep connection to Mother Earth and to your wise self.  Let your sun shine.
