Update on beallich by Abby Harrison

Abby and Patrick of beallich have had a good and busy year. Our first year of having a baby daughter, our second of running a health and activity business. Abby was happy to be very well and healthy before getting pregnant which she attributes to lots of yoga, being active outdoors in the mountains and woodland and eating a diet high in raw foods, trying to source them from as close to home as possible. She was grateful that the pregnancy was very straightforward and was happy to be teaching yoga up to 38 weeks, albeit not being able to touch her toes at the end. Thankfully she did not have the baby mid lesson, but Surya was born with the invaluable help of Patrick plus a fantastic midwife at 39 weeks. The birth was fantastic and the yogic breathing really did help, along with some gas
and air which made things feel rather surreal at some moments.

Surya (meaning the sun, in Sanskrit) certainly keeps the Harrisons on their toes. Abby managed to get back teaching Yoga after 6 weeks, but left the mountaineering to Patrick for the time being whilst breast feeding. Thankfully Surya came out just seeming to know how to feed and has been feeding and growing and growing and feeding ever since. As anyone with a small child will know it can be exhausting and often is. Abby feels it definitely helps to eat as much fresh living food as possible to keep healthy and with enough energy to keep going. At beallich the yoga, climbing, mountaineering and massage are still taking place (along with buggy walking, nappy changing, cuddling, feeding and playing with Surya). Surya is excited that beallich is running a trip abroad, to the Pyrenees, in late September for a couple weeks for yoga, climbing and walking, so she can practice her french.
